GlockApps vs MailReach

GlockApps vs MailReach

GlockApps and MailReach both answer the question every sender eventually asks: is my email reaching the inbox? They approach it from different directions. GlockApps is a diagnostic toolkit, with placement testing, DMARC analytics and monitoring. MailReach is primarily a warm-up service that also includes placement tests. They suit different kinds of senders.

At a glance

  • GlockApps is best for marketers and deliverability specialists who need testing and monitoring across their whole email program. It has a free tier, and paid plans from $59 a month.
  • MailReach is best for cold email senders who want to warm mailboxes and check placement in one tool. Warm-up costs $19.50 per mailbox a month.

Where GlockApps is strong

GlockApps runs inbox placement tests against a seed list of mailboxes at many providers. You send your real email to the seed addresses and receive a report showing where it landed at each one: inbox, promotions tab, spam or missing. The report also covers authentication results, spam filter scores and blocklist status.

Around that core, GlockApps has built a wider suite. DMARC analytics process your aggregate reports. Uptime monitors watch your mail servers. IP reputation monitors alert you to blocklistings. The Essential plan, at $59 a month, includes 360 spam test credits and 600,000 DMARC messages. Growth, at $99 a month, includes 1,080 credits. The free tier offers two test credits and basic DMARC monitoring.

It works for any type of email: marketing, transactional or cold.

Where MailReach is strong

MailReach focuses on sender reputation for individual mailboxes. Its warm-up service connects your mailbox to a network of Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 inboxes that exchange messages with it, open them, reply, and move them out of spam. The aim is to build and maintain a positive engagement history.

Pricing is per mailbox, at $19.50 a month, with a discount on annual billing. Every warm-up plan includes at least 20 spam test credits, and each credit runs one placement test with a deliverability report. Health checks cover blocklists and SPF, DKIM and DMARC configuration.

For a sales team with a handful of outreach mailboxes, it is a compact way to get warm-up and testing together.

Key differences

  • Primary job. GlockApps diagnoses. MailReach warms up, with testing alongside.
  • Scope. GlockApps covers domains, IPs and DMARC for an entire program. MailReach works at the mailbox level.
  • Pricing. GlockApps charges a flat monthly fee for a bundle of tests and monitoring. MailReach charges per mailbox.
  • DMARC. GlockApps includes DMARC report analytics. MailReach checks that records exist.
  • Audience. GlockApps serves all senders. MailReach is aimed at cold outreach.

Deliverability notes

Placement tests are a sample, not a measurement of your real audience. Seed mailboxes have no engagement history with you, so results can be more pessimistic or more optimistic than what subscribers actually experience. Use tests to catch changes and compare versions, not as an absolute score.

Warm-up deserves a similar caution. Automated engagement can help a new mailbox establish itself, but mailbox providers work to discount artificial activity, and Google has acted against warm-up services in the past. Warm-up cannot fix poor targeting, missing authentication or a high complaint rate.

The two tools can be complementary. A team might use MailReach on outreach mailboxes and GlockApps for marketing mail, DMARC and blocklist monitoring.

Which should you choose?

  • Choose GlockApps if you need to test and monitor marketing or transactional email, or want DMARC analytics in the same product.
  • Choose MailReach if you run cold outreach from a small number of mailboxes and want warm-up with built-in placement checks.
